Sound Food is a non-profit organization formed to promote local food and farming on and around Bainbridge Island, Washington. We do it for the love of food, and for the health of our bodies, our community and the land.

Sound Food evolved from a Sustainable Bainbridge farm mapping project. The map was designed to answer the question: “How do I find local food?” As we gathered information, it became clear that it was also important to think of “local” as a flexible circle on the map, widening as necessary to include a variety of foods necessary for nourishing individuals as well supporting farmers and gardeners in the community.

This website was created to encourage others to join us by sharing stories, resources and ideas about eating locally and seasonally in the Puget Sound area. Contribute an article to the community blogs, participate in a discussion forum, sign up for the newsletter, or just visit the site often to learn more.
