The Splendid Table's "Locavore Nation" wraps up a year of local eating and blogging

Fans of The Splendid Table, a weekly "foodie" radio show produced and aired on public radio (2 pm Sundays on KUOW 94.9 FM in the Seattle area), have enjoyed following the stories of 15 men and women across the country who tried to eat a 80% local diet for a year, beginning January 2008.  Show host Lynne Rossetto Kasper checked in on the final thoughts of participants in her January 17 show, which you can listen to directly on the website. Dubbed Locavore Nation, the project involved people from three regions of the country (Eastern, Central and Western) who posted regular blog entries about their experiences.  Their posts make wonderful reading and are all available at the Splendid Table website -- a complete archive of the Western participants is posted here.  Along with the thoughts and experiences of the "eaters" are recipes, tips, restaurant reviews and more.  All the Splendid Table shows are available on podcast via the show's website, or subscribe for free at the Itunes store.
